Lamb and Slaw Sliders

  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger
  • pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 lb (500g) ground lamb
  • 1/3 cup fine fresh breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons hoi sin sauce
  • 12 dinner rolls, split and toasted

  • SLAW
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1 1/2 cups finely shredded cabbage (Chinese)
  • 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions


To make the patties, preheat a grill pan or barbecue to medium-high. Heat oil in medium frying pan. Add onion, garlic and ginger. Cook for about 5 minutes or until onion is softened. Combine lamb, onion mixture, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs and sauce in medium bowl. Shape into 12 patties. Cook on preheated greased grill for about 5 minutes per side or until cooked.

To make the slaw, stir honey, soy, vinegar and both oil in medium bowl. Add remaining ingredients and toss to combine.

Place slaw on bottom half of each bun. Add a patty and the top of bun.
