Chocolate Hazelnut Pots

  • 1 cup of whipping cream
  • 6 oz (200g) dark chocolate, chopped
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup hazelnut liqueur
  • 1/ 2 teaspoon vanilla


Heat whipping cream in a small saucepan until bubbles form around side; remove from heat. Add chocolate and stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.

Whisk egg yolks and sugar in medium sized bowl until well combined. Stir in one-third of the chocolate mixture. Add remaining chocolate mixture, liqueur and vanilla; stir until well combined.

Place 6 x 115mL (about 1/2 cup) capacity ramekins or cups into a baking pan; pour in enough hot water to come up halfway up the side of ramekins. Carefully pour chocolate mixture evenly into each ramekin. Bake in 325°F oven for about 20 minutes until set around edge but still a little soft in the middle. Remove ramekins from pan; let cool to room temperature. Cover and chill for 6 hours or overnight. Makes 6.
